Thou Shalt Not
Her name rolled off his tongue like a sacred prayer. She blushed, ducking her head and biting her lip as she shook her head, remembering.
It had been innocent at first; a friendly smile, a too-kind compliment, a little too much attention. Nothing to worry about, but enough to start the rumors. No big deal. People were always talking about something.
She stayed late, trying to ignore the way his eyes were watching her, like the way one would watch a newborn child. He watched her with awe and interest and a yearning to know more. She didn’t mind it too much when he looked at her like that. It made her feel special.
She had never been anything extraordinary. She had average looks, average grades, an average life. And most importantly for him, the average naiveté that came with youth, an average need to be needed.
When they were alone, she very nearly forgot the complexities and harsh realities of the world. She forgot that what they were was wrong, that they were risking everything. When she thought about it after, she quite liked that they were risking everything. More accurately, she liked that he was risking everything for her.
She never told a soul. What they had was far too special for her to leave to the mercy of someone else’s careless lips. People kept talking. They eyed her curiously, itching to know the truth. Someone swore they’d seen them together. Another heard that they were going to run away together. If only. She never breathed a word, only offered her adamant denial and excuses, but her defense was wearing thin and people were growing more and more incredulous. They would have to be more careful. But they would never stop. They were both in too deep.
She loved being with him. She loved the smell of his skin and the way he would sometimes sigh when she kissed him ever so gently on the cheek. She loved the feel of his arm around her shoulder, so solid and concrete, the gesture almost fatherly in its caring. And she loved the feel of his body on hers when they made love – his rough hands, experienced and scarred from his many years, holding hers, pushing her down against the pillows, powerful and demanding; unyielding, just like her love for him.
And he loved her, too. She was sure of it. She had never been in love before, but she it had to be love. She knew by the constant sinking in the pit of her stomach, the way her heart pounded when she thought about him, and how she knew she would do anything for him. And by the twinkling smile he gave her when they passed and the promises he whispered in her ear when they lay together, intertwined between the covers, she knew that he loved her, too.
And now here he was, so close –too close than was appropriate, really, smiling down to her. She twisted her hands nervously and prayed that no one would notice the slow, deep blush creeping up her neck.
“A-plus,” he said, leaving a paper in her trembling hands. His eyes rested on hers for just a second too long, a silent reminder of what she was sure was love for him buried deep beneath her shame.
I feel like I need to finish this one by saying its completely fiction. I was watching a superlame Lifetime movie last weekend and it just kind of came to me. I carried around the idea for a week and then decided to just write it yesterday while Mr. Griffin was talking about angles or circles or something like that (I can already tell that I won't have an A in that class). Anyways, the subject is a little controversial and a lot taboo, and in light of some recent jokes my friends have been making and the whole thing about something like this happening at Karns last year, I just want to say that this is not about me, it is not about anyone I know, and it is compltely fiction. I got the idea from a Lifetime movie and not from any real life events (though the Lifetime movie may have been based on real events, I'm not really sure) or anything like that. So let this story serve its purpose: To shock, to entertain, and to provoke intelligent thought. That's all.

Ooohhh! It was juicy! Nice work. I kind of caught onto it when it said "almost fatherly", so I knew it wasn't a young boy, but the suspense was very enjoyable.
^_^
